חֶרְפָּתֵֽנוּ	אֶת	וּרְאֵ֥ה	לָ֔נוּהַבִּ֖יטָה	הָ֣יָה	מֶֽה	יְהוָה֙	זְכֹ֤ר
𐤇𐤓𐤐𐤕𐤍𐤅	𐤀𐤕	𐤅𐤓𐤀𐤄	𐤋𐤍𐤅𐤄􉀑𐤉𐤈𐤄	𐤄𐤉𐤄	𐤌𐤄	𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄	𐤆𐤊𐤓
cha-ra-pa-tha-nwa	aa-tha	wra-aa-ha	la-nwha-ba-yta-ha	ha-ya-ha	ma-ha	ya-hwa-ha	za-ka-r
herepatenw	'et	wre'eh	lanwhabiytah	hayah	meh	yehwah	zekor
our disgrace!		and see	Look	has happened to us.	what	O LORD,	Remember,

5-1. Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

lam 5:2

לְנָכְרִֽים	בָּתֵּ֖ינוּ	לְזָרִ֔ים	נֶֽהֶפְכָ֣ה	נַחֲלָתֵ֨נוּ֙
𐤋𐤍𐤊𐤓𐤉𐤌	􉀑𐤕𐤉𐤍𐤅	𐤋𐤆𐤓𐤉𐤌	𐤍𐤄𐤐𐤊𐤄	𐤍𐤇𐤋𐤕𐤍𐤅
la-na-ka-ra-ym	ba-tha-ynwa	la-za-ra-ym	na-ha-pa-ka-ha	na-chala-tha-nwa
lenakeriym	bateynw	lezariym	nehepekah	nahalatenw
to foreigners.	our houses	to strangers,	has been turned over	Our inheritance

5-2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

lam 5:3

אַלְמָנֹֽות	כְּ	אִמֹּתֵ֖ינוּ	אָ֔ב	וְאֵ֣ין	הָיִ֨ינוּ֙	יְתֹומִ֤ים
𐤀𐤋𐤌𐤍𐤅𐤕	𐤊	𐤀𐤌𐤕𐤉𐤍𐤅	𐤀􉀑	𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤍	𐤄𐤉𐤉𐤍𐤅	𐤉𐤕𐤅𐤌𐤉𐤌
aa-la-ma-na-wtha	ka	aa-ma-tha-ynwa	aa-b	wa-aa-yn	ha-ya-ynwa	ya-tha-wma-ym
'alemanowt	ke	'imoteynw	'ab	we'eyn	hayiynw	yetowmiym
are widows.		our mothers		fatherless	We have become	orphans;

5-3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

lam 5:4

יָבֹֽאוּ	בִּמְחִ֥יר	עֵצֵ֖ינוּ	שָׁתִ֔ינוּ	בְּכֶ֣סֶף	מֵימֵ֨ינוּ֙
𐤉􉀑𐤀𐤅	􉀑𐤌𐤇𐤉𐤓	𐤏𐤑𐤉𐤍𐤅	𐤔𐤕𐤉𐤍𐤅	􉀑𐤊𐤎𐤐	𐤌𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤍𐤅
ya-ba-awa	ba-ma-cha-yr	'a-sa-ynwa	sha-tha-ynwa	ba-ka-sa-ph	ma-yma-ynwa
yabo'w	bimehiyr	'eseynw	satiynw	bekesep	meymeynw
comes	at a price.	our wood	we drink;	We must buy	the water

5-4. We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

lam 5:5

הֽוּנַֽח	וְלֹ֥א	יָגַ֖עְנוּ	נִרְדָּ֔פְנוּ	צַוָּארֵ֨נוּ֙	עַ֤ל
𐤄𐤅𐤍𐤇	𐤅𐤋𐤀	𐤉𐤂𐤏𐤍𐤅	𐤍𐤓𐤃𐤐𐤍𐤅	𐤑𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤍𐤅	𐤏𐤋
hwna-cha	wa-la-a	ya-ga-'a-nwa	na-ra-da-pa-nwa	sa-wa-ara-nwa	'a-l
hwnah	welo'	yaga'enw	niredapenw	sawa'renw	'al
rest.	[and find] no	we are weary	pursued;		We are closely

5-5. Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

lam 5:6

לָֽחֶם	לִשְׂבֹּ֥עַֽ	אַשּׁ֖וּר	יָ֔ד	נָתַ֣נּוּ	לָֽנוּמִצְרַ֨יִם֙
𐤋𐤇𐤌	𐤋𐤔􉀑𐤏	𐤀𐤔𐤅𐤓	𐤉𐤃	𐤍𐤕𐤍𐤅	𐤋𐤍𐤅𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌
la-cha-m	la-sha-ba-'a	aa-shwr	ya-d	na-tha-nwa	la-nwma-sa-ra-ya-m
lahem	lisebo'a	'aswr	yad	natanw	lanwmiserayim
food.	to get enough	[and] Assyria,		We submitted	to Egypt

5-6. We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

lam 5:7

סָבָֽלְנוּ	עֲוֹנֹתֵיהֶ֥ם	וַאֲנַ֖חְנוּ	וְאֵינָ֔ם	חָֽטְאוּ֙	אֲבֹתֵ֤ינוּ
𐤎􉀑𐤋𐤍𐤅	𐤏𐤅𐤍𐤕𐤉𐤄𐤌	𐤅𐤀𐤍𐤇𐤍𐤅	𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤍𐤌	𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤅	𐤀􉀑𐤕𐤉𐤍𐤅
sa-ba-la-nwa	'awa-na-tha-yha-m	wa-aana-cha-nwa	wa-aa-yna-m	cha-ta-awa	aaba-tha-ynwa
sabalenw	'awonoteyhem	wa'anahenw	we'eynam	hate'w	'aboteynw
bear	their punishment.	but we	[and are] no more,	sinned	Our fathers

5-7. Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

lam 5:8

יָּדָֽם	מִ	אֵ֥ין	בָ֔נוּפֹּרֵ֖ק	מָ֣שְׁלוּ	עֲבָדִים֙
𐤉𐤃𐤌	𐤌	𐤀𐤉𐤍	􉀑𐤍𐤅𐤐𐤓𐤒	𐤌𐤔𐤋𐤅	𐤏􉀑𐤃𐤉𐤌
ya-da-m	ma	aa-yn	ba-nwpa-ra-qh	ma-sha-lwa	'aba-da-ym
yadam	mi	'eyn	banwporeq	maselw	'abadiym
their hands.	from	[there is] no one	to deliver us	rule over us;	Slaves

5-8. Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.

lam 5:9

הַמִּדְבָּֽר	חֶ֥רֶב	פְּנֵ֖י	מִ	לַחְמֵ֔נוּ	נָבִ֣יא	בְּנַפְשֵׁ֨נוּ֙
𐤄𐤌𐤃􉀑𐤓	𐤇𐤓􉀑	𐤐𐤍𐤉	𐤌	𐤋𐤇𐤌𐤍𐤅	𐤍􉀑𐤉𐤀	􉀑𐤍𐤐𐤔𐤍𐤅
ha-ma-da-ba-r	cha-ra-b	pa-na-ya	ma	la-cha-ma-nwa	na-ba-ya	ba-na-pa-sha-nwa
hamidebar	hereb	peney	mi	lahemenw	nabiy'	benapesenw
in the wilderness.	the sword	because of		our bread	We get	at the risk of our lives

5-9. We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.

lam 5:10

רָעָֽב	זַלְעֲפֹ֥ות	פְּנֵ֖י	מִ	נִכְמָ֔רוּ	תַנּ֣וּר	כְּ	עֹורֵ֨נוּ֙
𐤓𐤏􉀑	𐤆𐤋𐤏𐤐𐤅𐤕	𐤐𐤍𐤉	𐤌	𐤍𐤊𐤌𐤓𐤅	𐤕𐤍𐤅𐤓	𐤊	𐤏𐤅𐤓𐤍𐤅
ra-'a-b	za-la-'apa-wtha	pa-na-ya	ma	na-ka-ma-rwa	tha-nwr	ka	'a-wra-nwa
ra'ab	zale'apowt	peney	mi	nikemarw	tanwr	ke	'owrenw
of famine.	the burning	because of		is as hot	as an oven		Our skin

5-10. Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

lam 5:11

יְהוּדָֽה	בְּעָרֵ֥י	בְּתֻלֹ֖ת	עִנּ֔וּ	בְּצִיֹּ֣ון	נָשִׁים֙
𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤃𐤄	􉀑𐤏𐤓𐤉	􉀑𐤕𐤋𐤕	𐤏𐤍𐤅	􉀑𐤑𐤉𐤅𐤍	𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤌
ya-hwda-ha	ba-'a-ra-ya	ba-thula-tha	'a-nwa	ba-sa-ya-wn	na-sha-ym
yehwdah	be'arey	betulot	'inw	besiyown	nasiym
of Judah.	in the cities	virgins	have been ravished	in Zion,	Women

5-11. They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

lam 5:12

נֶהְדָּֽרוּ	לֹ֥א	זְקֵנִ֖ים	פְּנֵ֥י	נִתְל֔וּ	בְּיָדָ֣ם	שָׂרִים֙
𐤍𐤄𐤃𐤓𐤅	𐤋𐤀	𐤆𐤒𐤍𐤉𐤌	𐤐𐤍𐤉	𐤍𐤕𐤋𐤅	􉀑𐤉𐤃𐤌	𐤔𐤓𐤉𐤌
na-ha-da-rwa	la-a	za-qa-na-ym	pa-na-ya	na-tha-lwa	ba-ya-da-m	sha-ra-ym
nehedarw	lo'	zeqeniym	peney	nitelw	beyadam	sariym
	receive no	elders	respect.	have been hung up	by their hands;	Princes

5-12. Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

lam 5:13

כָּשָֽׁלוּ	בָּעֵ֥ץ	וּנְעָרִ֖ים	נָשָׂ֔אוּ	טְחֹ֣ון	בַּחוּרִים֙
𐤊𐤔𐤋𐤅	􉀑𐤏𐤑	𐤅𐤍𐤏𐤓𐤉𐤌	𐤍𐤔𐤀𐤅	𐤈𐤇𐤅𐤍	􉀑𐤇𐤅𐤓𐤉𐤌
ka-sha-lwa	ba-'a-tz	wna-'a-ra-ym	na-sha-awa	ta-cha-wn	ba-chwra-ym
kasalw	ba'es	wne'ariym	nasa'w	tehown	bahwriym
stagger	under loads of wood.	boys	toil	at millstones;	Young men

5-13. They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

lam 5:14

נְּגִינָתָֽם	מִ	בַּחוּרִ֖ים	שָׁבָ֔תוּ	שַּׁ֣עַר	מִ	זְקֵנִים֙
𐤍𐤂𐤉𐤍𐤕𐤌	𐤌	􉀑𐤇𐤅𐤓𐤉𐤌	𐤔􉀑𐤕𐤅	𐤔𐤏𐤓	𐤌	𐤆𐤒𐤍𐤉𐤌
na-ga-yna-tha-m	ma	ba-chwra-ym	sha-ba-thwa	sha-'a-r	ma	za-qa-na-ym
negiynatam	mi	bahwriym	sabatw	sa'ar	mi	zeqeniym
[have stopped] their music.		the young men	have left	the city gate;		The elders

5-14. The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

lam 5:15

מְחֹלֵֽנוּ	לְאֵ֖בֶל	נֶהְפַּ֥ךְ	לִבֵּ֔נוּ	מְשֹׂ֣ושׂ	שָׁבַת֙
𐤌𐤇𐤋𐤍𐤅	𐤋𐤀􉀑𐤋	𐤍𐤄𐤐𐤊	𐤋􉀑𐤍𐤅	𐤌𐤔𐤅𐤔	𐤔􉀑𐤕
ma-cha-la-nwa	la-aa-ba-l	na-ha-pa-ka	la-ba-nwa	ma-sha-wsha	sha-ba-tha
meholenw	le'ebel	nehepake	libenw	mesows	sabat
our dancing	to mourning.	has turned	our hearts;	Joy	has left

5-15. The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

lam 5:16

לָ֖נוּכִּ֥יחָטָֽאנוּ	נָ֥א	אֹֽוי	רֹאשֵׁ֔נוּ	עֲטֶ֣רֶת	נָֽפְלָה֙
𐤋𐤍𐤅𐤊𐤉𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤍𐤅	𐤍𐤀	𐤀𐤅𐤉	𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤍𐤅	𐤏𐤈𐤓𐤕	𐤍𐤐𐤋𐤄
la-nwka-ycha-ta-anwa	na-a	aa-wya	ra-asha-nwa	'ata-ra-tha	na-pa-la-ha
lanwkiyhata'nw	na'	'owy	ro'senw	'ateret	napelah
for we have sinned!		Woe to us,	from our head.	The crown	has fallen

5-16. The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

lam 5:17

עֵינֵֽינוּ	חָשְׁכ֥וּ	אֵ֖לֶּה	עַל	לִבֵּ֔נוּ	דָוֶה֙	הָיָ֤ה	זֶ֗ה	עַל
𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤍𐤅	𐤇𐤔𐤊𐤅	𐤀𐤋𐤄	𐤏𐤋	𐤋􉀑𐤍𐤅	𐤃𐤅𐤄	𐤄𐤉𐤄	𐤆𐤄	𐤏𐤋
'a-yna-ynwa	cha-sha-kwa	aa-la-ha	'a-l	la-ba-nwa	da-wa-ha	ha-ya-ha	za-ha	'a-l
'eyneynw	hasekw	'eleh	'al	libenw	daweh	hayah	zeh	'al
our eyes	grow dim:	these,	because of	our hearts	faint;	are	this,	Because of

5-17. For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

הִלְּכוּ	שׁוּעָלִ֖ים	שֶׁשָּׁמֵ֔ם	צִיֹּון֙	הַר	עַ֤ל
𐤄𐤋𐤊𐤅	𐤔𐤅𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤌	𐤔𐤔𐤌𐤌	𐤑𐤉𐤅𐤍	𐤄𐤓	𐤏𐤋
ha-la-kwa	shw'a-la-ym	sha-sha-ma-m	sa-ya-wn	ha-r	'a-l
hilekw	sw'aliym	sesamem	siyown	har	'al
haunted	by the jackals.	which lies desolate, which lies desolate,	Zion,	Mount	because of

5-18. Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

lam 5:19

וָדֹֽור	לְדֹ֥ר	כִּסְאֲךָ֖	תֵּשֵׁ֔ב	לְעֹולָ֣ם	יְהוָה֙	בֹֽואַתָּ֤ה
𐤅𐤃𐤅𐤓	𐤋𐤃𐤓	𐤊𐤎𐤀𐤊	𐤕𐤔􉀑	𐤋𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤌	𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄	􉀑𐤅𐤀𐤕𐤄
wa-da-wr	la-da-r	ka-sa-aaka	tha-sha-b	la-'a-wla-m	ya-hwa-ha	ba-waa-tha-ha
wadowr	ledor	kise'aka	teseb	le'owlam	yehwah	bow'atah
to generation.	endures from generation	Your throne	reign	forever;	O LORD,	You,

5-19. Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

יָמִֽים	לְאֹ֥רֶךְ	תַּֽעַזְבֵ֖נוּ	תִּשְׁכָּחֵ֔נוּ	לָנֶ֨צַח֙	לָ֤מָּה
𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌	𐤋𐤀𐤓𐤊	𐤕𐤏𐤆􉀑𐤍𐤅	𐤕𐤔𐤊𐤇𐤍𐤅	𐤋𐤍𐤑𐤇	𐤋𐤌𐤄
ya-ma-ym	la-aa-ra-ka	tha-'a-za-ba-nwa	tha-sha-ka-cha-nwa	la-na-sa-cha	la-ma-ha
yamiym	le'oreke	ta'azebenw	tisekahenw	lanesah	lamah
	for so long?	Why have You forsaken us	have You forgotten us	forever?	Why

5-20. Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

קֶֽדֶם	כְּ	יָמֵ֖ינוּ	חַדֵּ֥שׁ	אֵלֶ֨יךָ֙וְֽנָשׁ֔וּבָה	יְהוָ֤ה	הֲשִׁיבֵ֨נוּ
𐤒𐤃𐤌	𐤊	𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤍𐤅	𐤇𐤃𐤔	𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤊𐤅𐤍שׁ𐤅􉀑𐤄	𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄	𐤄𐤔𐤉􉀑𐤍𐤅
qa-da-m	ka	ya-ma-ynwa	cha-da-sha	aa-la-yka-wa-na-שׁwba-ha	ya-hwa-ha	hasha-yba-nwa
qedem	ke	yameynw	hades	'eleykawenaשׁwbah	yehwah	hasiybenw
as of old,		our days	renew	us to Yourself, us to Yourself, so we may return;	O LORD,	Restore

5-21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

lam 5:22

מְאֹֽד	עַד	עָלֵ֖ינוּ	קָצַ֥פְתָּ	מְאַסְתָּ֔נוּ	כִּ֚יאִםמָאֹ֣ס
𐤌𐤀𐤃	𐤏𐤃	𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤍𐤅	𐤒𐤑𐤐𐤕	𐤌𐤀𐤎𐤕𐤍𐤅	𐤊𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤌𐤀𐤎
ma-aa-d	'a-d	'a-la-ynwa	qa-sa-pa-tha	ma-aa-sa-tha-nwa	ka-yaa-mma-aa-sh
me'od	'ad	'aleynw	qasapeta	me'asetanw	kiy'imma'os
	beyond measure.	with us	and remain angry		unless unless You have utterly rejected us

5-22. But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.
