כַּפֶּֽיךָ	לַזָּ֣ר	תָּקַ֖עְתָּ	לְרֵעֶ֑ךָ	אִםעָרַ֣בְתָּ	בְּ֭נִי
𐤊𐤐𐤉𐤊	𐤋𐤆𐤓	𐤕𐤒𐤏𐤕	𐤋𐤓𐤏𐤊	𐤀𐤌𐤏𐤓􉀑𐤕	􉀑𐤍𐤉
ka-pa-yka	la-za-r	tha-qa-'a-tha	la-ra-'a-ka	aa-m'a-ra-ba-tha	ba-na-ya
kapeyka	lazar	taqa'eta	lere'eka	'im'arabeta	beniy
	with a stranger,	if you have struck hands in pledge	for your neighbor,	if you have put up security	My son,

6-1. My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,

pro 6:2

פִֽיךָ	בְּאִמְרֵי	נִ֝לְכַּ֗דְתָּ	פִ֑יךָ	בְאִמְרֵי	נֹוקַ֥שְׁתָּ
𐤐𐤉𐤊	􉀑𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤉	𐤍𐤋𐤊𐤃𐤕	𐤐𐤉𐤊	􉀑𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤉	𐤍𐤅𐤒𐤔𐤕
pa-yka	ba-aa-ma-ra-ya	na-la-ka-da-tha	pa-yka	ba-aa-ma-ra-ya	na-wqa-sha-tha
piyka	be'imerey	nilekadeta	piyka	be'imerey	nowqaseta
of your mouth,	by the words	ensnared	of your lips,	by the words	if you have been trapped

6-2. Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

6-3. Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend.

לְעַפְעַפֶּֽיךָ	וּ֝תְנוּמָ֗ה	לְעֵינֶ֑יךָ	שֵׁנָ֣ה	תִּתֵּ֣ן	אַל

la-'a-pa-'a-pa-yka	wtha-nwma-ha	la-'a-yna-yka	sha-na-ha	tha-tha-n	aa-l
le'ape'apeyka	wtenwmah	le'eyneyka	senah	titen	'al
to your eyelids.	or slumber	to your eyes	sleep	Allow	no

6-4. Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.

pro 6:5

יָקֽוּשׁ	יַּ֥ד	מִ	צִפֹּ֗ור	וּ֝כְ	יָּ֑ד	מִ	צְבִ֣י	כִּ	הִ֭נָּצֵל
𐤉𐤒𐤅𐤔	𐤉𐤃	𐤌	𐤑𐤐𐤅𐤓	𐤅𐤊	𐤉𐤃	𐤌	𐤑􉀑𐤉	𐤊	𐤄𐤍𐤑𐤋
ya-qwsha	ya-d	ma	sa-pa-wr	wka	ya-d	ma	sa-ba-ya	ka	ha-na-sa-l
yaqws	yad	mi	sipowr	wke	yad	mi	sebiy	ki	hinasel
the fowler’s snare.		from	like a bird		the hand [of the hunter],	from	like a gazelle		Free yourself,

6-5. Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

וַחֲכָֽם	דְרָכֶ֣יהָ	רְאֵ֖ה	עָצֵ֑ל	אֶלנְמָלָ֥ה	לֵֽךְ
𐤅𐤇𐤊𐤌	𐤃𐤓𐤊𐤉𐤄	𐤓𐤀𐤄	𐤏𐤑𐤋	𐤀𐤋𐤍𐤌𐤋𐤄	𐤋𐤊
wa-chaka-m	da-ra-ka-yha	ra-aa-ha	'a-sa-l	aa-lna-ma-la-ha	la-ka
wahakam	derakeyha	re'eh	'asel	'elnemalah	leke
and be wise:	its ways	observe	O sluggard;	the ant,	Walk in the manner of

6-6. Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

וּמֹשֵֽׁל	שֹׁטֵ֥ר	לָ֥הּקָצִ֗ין	אֲשֶׁ֖ראֵֽין
𐤅𐤌𐤔𐤋	𐤔𐤈𐤓	𐤋𐤄𐤒𐤑𐤉𐤍	𐤀𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤉𐤍
wma-sha-l	sha-ta-r	la-hqa-sa-yn	aasha-raa-yn
wmosel	soter	lahqasiyn	'aser'eyn
or ruler,	without an overseer	a commander,	Without

6-7. Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

pro 6:8

מַאֲכָלָֽהּ	בַ֝קָּצִ֗יר	אָגְרָ֥ה	לַחְמָ֑הּ	בַּקַּ֣יִץ	תָּכִ֣ין
𐤌𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤄	􉀑𐤒𐤑𐤉𐤓	𐤀𐤂𐤓𐤄	𐤋𐤇𐤌𐤄	􉀑𐤒𐤉𐤑	𐤕𐤊𐤉𐤍
ma-aaka-la-ha	ba-qa-sa-yr	aa-ga-ra-ha	la-cha-ma-ha	ba-qa-ya-tz	tha-ka-yn
ma'akalah	baqasiyr	'agerah	lahemah	baqayis	takiyn
its food	at harvest.	it gathers	its provisions	in summer;	it prepares

6-8. Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

pro 6:9

שְּׁנָתֶֽךָ	מִ	תָּק֥וּם	מָ֝תַ֗י	תִּשְׁכָּ֑ב	עָצֵ֥ל	מָתַ֖י	עַד
𐤔𐤍𐤕𐤊	𐤌	𐤕𐤒𐤅𐤌	𐤌𐤕𐤉	𐤕𐤔𐤊􉀑	𐤏𐤑𐤋	𐤌𐤕𐤉	𐤏𐤃
sha-na-tha-ka	ma	tha-qwm	ma-tha-ya	tha-sha-ka-b	'a-sa-l	ma-tha-ya	'a-d
senateka	mi	taqwm	matay	tisekab	'asel	matay	'ad
your sleep?	from	will you get up	When	will you lie there,	O sluggard?	How	long

6-9. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

לִשְׁכָּֽב	יָדַ֣יִם	חִבֻּ֖ק	מְעַ֓ט	תְּנוּמֹ֑ות	מְעַ֣ט	שֵׁ֭נֹות	מְעַ֣ט
𐤋𐤔𐤊􉀑	𐤉𐤃𐤉𐤌	𐤇􉀑𐤒	𐤌𐤏𐤈	𐤕𐤍𐤅𐤌𐤅𐤕	𐤌𐤏𐤈	𐤔𐤍𐤅𐤕	𐤌𐤏𐤈
la-sha-ka-b	ya-da-ya-m	cha-buqh	ma-'a-t	tha-nwma-wtha	ma-'a-t	sha-na-wtha	ma-'a-t
lisekab	yadayim	hibuq	me'at	tenwmowt	me'at	senowt	me'at
to rest,	of the hands	folding	a little	slumber,	a little	sleep,	A little

6-10. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

מָגֵֽן	אִ֣ישׁ	כְּ	וּ֝מַחְסֹֽרְךָ֗	רֵאשֶׁ֑ךָ	מְהַלֵּ֥ךְ	כִ	וּבָֽא
𐤌𐤂𐤍	𐤀𐤉𐤔	𐤊	𐤅𐤌𐤇𐤎𐤓𐤊	𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤊	𐤌𐤄𐤋𐤊	𐤊	𐤅􉀑𐤀
ma-ga-n	aa-ysha	ka	wma-cha-sa-ra-ka	ra-asha-ka	ma-ha-la-ka	ka	wba-a
magen	'iys	ke	wmahesoreka	re'seka	mehaleke	ki	wba'
	like a bandit.		and need	and poverty	like a robber,		will come upon you

6-11. So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.

pro 6:12

פֶּֽה	עִקְּשׁ֥וּת	הֹ֝ולֵ֗ךְ	אָ֑וֶן	אִ֣ישׁ	בְּ֭לִיַּעַל	אָדָ֣ם
𐤐𐤄	𐤏𐤒𐤔𐤅𐤕	𐤄𐤅𐤋𐤊	𐤀𐤅𐤍	𐤀𐤉𐤔	􉀑𐤋𐤉𐤏𐤋	𐤀𐤃𐤌
pa-ha	'a-qa-shwtha	ha-wla-ka	aa-wa-n	aa-ysha	ba-la-ya-'a-l	aa-da-m
peh	'iqeswt	howleke	'awen	'iys	beliya'al	'adam
mouth,	with a perverse	walks	a wicked	man,	A worthless	person,

6-12. A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.

pro 6:13

בְּאֶצְבְּעֹתָֽיו	מֹ֝רֶ֗ה	בְּרַגְלָ֑יו	מֹלֵ֣ל	בְּ֭עֵינָיו	קֹרֵ֣ץ
􉀑𐤀𐤑􉀑𐤏𐤕𐤉𐤅	𐤌𐤓𐤄	􉀑𐤓𐤂𐤋𐤉𐤅	𐤌𐤋𐤋	􉀑𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤅	𐤒𐤓𐤑
ba-aa-sa-ba-'a-tha-ywa	ma-ra-ha	ba-ra-ga-la-ywa	ma-la-l	ba-'a-yna-ywa	qa-ra-tz
be'esebe'otayw	moreh	beragelayw	molel	be'eynayw	qores
with his fingers.	and pointing	with his feet,	speaking	his eyes,	winking

6-13. He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;

pro 6:14

יְשַׁלֵּֽחַ	מִדְיָנִ֥ים	עֵ֑ת	בְּכָל	רָ֣ע	חֹרֵ֣שׁ	בְּלִבֹּ֗ו	תַּֽהְפֻּכֹ֨ות
𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤇	𐤌𐤃𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤌	𐤏𐤕	􉀑𐤊𐤋	𐤓𐤏	𐤇𐤓𐤔	􉀑𐤋􉀑𐤅	𐤕𐤄𐤐𐤊𐤅𐤕
ya-sha-la-cha	ma-da-ya-na-ym	'a-tha	ba-ka-l	ra-'	cha-ra-sha	ba-la-ba-wa	tha-ha-puka-wtha
yesaleha	mideyaniym	'et	bekal	ra'	hores	belibow	tahepukowt
sows	discord.		he continually	evil;	he devises	in his heart	With deceit

6-14. Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.

pro 6:15

מַרְפֵּֽא	וְאֵ֣ין	יִ֝שָּׁבֵ֗ר	פֶּ֥תַע	אֵידֹ֑ו	יָבֹ֣וא	פִּ֭תְאֹם	כֵּ֗ן	עַל
𐤌𐤓𐤐𐤀	𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤍	𐤉𐤔􉀑𐤓	𐤐𐤕𐤏	𐤀𐤉𐤃𐤅	𐤉􉀑𐤅𐤀	𐤐𐤕𐤀𐤌	𐤊𐤍	𐤏𐤋
ma-ra-pa-a	wa-aa-yn	ya-sha-ba-r	pa-tha-'	aa-yda-wa	ya-ba-wa	pa-tha-aa-m	ka-n	'a-l
marepe'	we'eyn	yisaber	peta'	'eydow	yabow'	pite'om	ken	'al
recovery.	beyond	he will be shattered	in an instant	calamity	will come upon him	suddenly;		Therefore

6-15. Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

נַפְשֹֽׁו	תֹּועֲבַ֥ת	וְ֝שֶׁ֗בַע	יְהוָ֑ה	שָׂנֵ֣א	הֵ֭נָּה	שֶׁשׁ
𐤍𐤐𐤔𐤅	𐤕𐤅𐤏􉀑𐤕	𐤅𐤔􉀑𐤏	𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄	𐤔𐤍𐤀	𐤄𐤍𐤄	𐤔𐤔
na-pa-sha-wa	tha-w'aba-tha	wa-sha-ba-'	ya-hwa-ha	sha-na-a	ha-na-ha	sha-sha
napesow	tow'abat	weseba'	yehwah	sane'	henah	ses
to Him:	that are detestable	seven	the LORD	hates,	There are	six [things that]

6-16. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

נָקִֽי	דָּם	שֹׁפְכֹ֥ות	וְ֝יָדַ֗יִם	שָׁ֑קֶר	לְשֹׁ֣ון	רָ֭מֹות	עֵינַ֣יִם
𐤍𐤒𐤉	𐤃𐤌	𐤔𐤐𐤊𐤅𐤕	𐤅𐤉𐤃𐤉𐤌	𐤔𐤒𐤓	𐤋𐤔𐤅𐤍	𐤓𐤌𐤅𐤕	𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤌
na-qa-ya	da-m	sha-pa-ka-wtha	wa-ya-da-ya-m	sha-qa-r	la-sha-wn	ra-ma-wtha	'a-yna-ya-m
naqiy	dam	sopekowt	weyadayim	saqer	lesown	ramowt	'eynayim
innocent	blood,	that shed	hands	a lying	tongue,	haughty	eyes,

6-17. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

לָֽרָעָה	לָר֥וּץ	מְ֝מַהֲרֹ֗ות	רַגְלַ֥יִם	אָ֑וֶן	מַחְשְׁבֹ֣ות	חֹ֭רֵשׁ	לֵ֗ב
𐤋𐤓𐤏𐤄	𐤋𐤓𐤅𐤑	𐤌𐤌𐤄𐤓𐤅𐤕	𐤓𐤂𐤋𐤉𐤌	𐤀𐤅𐤍	𐤌𐤇𐤔􉀑𐤅𐤕	𐤇𐤓𐤔	𐤋􉀑
la-ra-'a-ha	la-rwtz	ma-ma-hara-wtha	ra-ga-la-ya-m	aa-wa-n	ma-cha-sha-ba-wtha	cha-ra-sha	la-b
lara'ah	larws	memaharowt	ragelayim	'awen	mahesebowt	hores	leb
to evil,	that run	swiftly	feet	wicked	schemes,	that devises	a heart

6-18. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

אַחִֽים	בֵּ֣ין	מְ֝דָנִ֗ים	וּמְשַׁלֵּ֥חַ	שָׁ֑קֶר	עֵ֣ד	כְּ֭זָבִים	יָפִ֣יחַ
𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤌	􉀑𐤉𐤍	𐤌𐤃𐤍𐤉𐤌	𐤅𐤌𐤔𐤋𐤇	𐤔𐤒𐤓	𐤏𐤃	𐤊𐤆􉀑𐤉𐤌	𐤉𐤐𐤉𐤇
aa-cha-ym	ba-yn	ma-da-na-ym	wma-sha-la-cha	sha-qa-r	'a-d	ka-za-ba-ym	ya-pa-ycha
'ahiym	beyn	medaniym	wmesaleha	saqer	'ed	kezabiym	yapiyha
brothers.	among	discord	and one who stirs up	a false	witness	who gives false	testimony,

6-19. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

pro 6:20

אִמֶּֽךָ	תֹּורַ֥ת	תִּ֝טֹּ֗שׁ	וְאַל	אָבִ֑יךָ	מִצְוַ֣ת	בְּ֭נִי	נְצֹ֣ר
𐤀𐤌𐤊	𐤕𐤅𐤓𐤕	𐤕𐤈𐤔	𐤅𐤀𐤋	𐤀􉀑𐤉𐤊	𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤕	􉀑𐤍𐤉	𐤍𐤑𐤓
aa-ma-ka	tha-wra-tha	tha-ta-sha	wa-aa-l	aa-ba-yka	ma-sa-wa-tha	ba-na-ya	na-sa-r
'imeka	towrat	titos	we'al	'abiyka	misewat	beniy	nesor
your mother’s	teaching.	forsake	and do not	your father’s	commandment,	My son,	keep

6-20. My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

גַּרְגְּרֹתֶֽךָ	עַל	עָ֝נְדֵ֗ם	תָמִ֑יד	לִבְּךָ֣	עַל	קָשְׁרֵ֣ם
𐤂𐤓𐤂𐤓𐤕𐤊	𐤏𐤋	𐤏𐤍𐤃𐤌	𐤕𐤌𐤉𐤃	𐤋􉀑𐤊	𐤏𐤋	𐤒𐤔𐤓𐤌
ga-ra-ga-ra-tha-ka	'a-l	'a-na-da-m	tha-ma-yd	la-ba-ka	'a-l	qa-sha-ra-m
garegeroteka	'al	'anedem	tamiyd	libeka	'al	qaserem
your neck.	them around	tie	always	your heart;	upon	Bind them

6-21. Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.

תְשִׂיחֶֽךָ	הִ֣יא	וַ֝הֲקִיצֹ֗ותָ	עָלֶ֑יךָ	תִּשְׁמֹ֣ר	בְּֽ֭שָׁכְבְּךָ	אֹתָ֗ךְ	תַּנְחֶ֬ה	בְּהִתְהַלֶּכְךָ֨
𐤕𐤔𐤉𐤇𐤊	𐤄𐤉𐤀	𐤅𐤄𐤒𐤉𐤑𐤅𐤕	𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤊	𐤕𐤔𐤌𐤓	􉀑𐤔𐤊􉀑𐤊	𐤀𐤕𐤊	𐤕𐤍𐤇𐤄	􉀑𐤄𐤕𐤄𐤋𐤊𐤊
tha-sha-ycha-ka	ha-ya	wa-haqa-ysa-wtha	'a-la-yka	tha-sha-ma-r	ba-sha-ka-ba-ka	aa-tha-ka	tha-na-cha-ha	ba-ha-tha-ha-la-ka-ka
tesiyheka	hiy'	wahaqiysowta	'aleyka	tisemor	besakebeka	'otake	taneheh	behitehalekeka
will speak to you.	they	when you awake,	over you;	they will watch	lie down,	when you	they will guide you;	When you walk,

6-22. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

pro 6:23

מוּסָֽר	תֹּוכְחֹ֥ות	חַ֝יִּ֗ים	וְדֶ֥רֶךְ	אֹ֑ור	וְתֹ֣ורָה	מִ֭צְוָה	כִּ֤ינֵ֣ר
𐤌𐤅𐤎𐤓	𐤕𐤅𐤊𐤇𐤅𐤕	𐤇𐤉𐤉𐤌	𐤅𐤃𐤓𐤊	𐤀𐤅𐤓	𐤅𐤕𐤅𐤓𐤄	𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤄	𐤊𐤉𐤍𐤓
mwsa-r	tha-wka-cha-wtha	cha-ya-ym	wa-da-ra-ka	aa-wr	wa-tha-wra-ha	ma-sa-wa-ha	ka-yna-r
mwsar	towkehowt	hayiym	wedereke	'owr	wetowrah	misewah	kiyner
of discipline	and the reproofs	to life,	are the way	[is] a light,	this teaching	this commandment	For is a lamp,

6-23. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

נָכְרִיָּֽה	לָשֹׁ֥ון	חֶלְקַ֗ת	מֵֽ֝	רָ֑ע	אֵ֣שֶׁת	מֵ	לִ֭שְׁמָרְךָ
𐤍𐤊𐤓𐤉𐤄	𐤋𐤔𐤅𐤍	𐤇𐤋𐤒𐤕	𐤌	𐤓𐤏	𐤀𐤔𐤕	𐤌	𐤋𐤔𐤌𐤓𐤊
na-ka-ra-ya-ha	la-sha-wn	cha-la-qa-tha	ma	ra-'	aa-sha-tha	ma	la-sha-ma-ra-ka
nakeriyah	lasown	heleqat	me	ra'	'eset	me	lisemareka
of the stranger.	tongue	the smooth	from	from the evil	woman,		to keep you

6-24. To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.

pro 6:25

בְּעַפְעַפֶּֽיהָ	תִּ֝קָּֽחֲךָ֗	וְאַל	בִּלְבָבֶ֑ךָ	יָ֭פְיָהּ	תַּחְמֹ֣ד	אַל
􉀑𐤏𐤐𐤏𐤐𐤉𐤄	𐤕𐤒𐤇𐤊	𐤅𐤀𐤋	􉀑𐤋􉀑􉀑𐤊	𐤉𐤐𐤉𐤄	𐤕𐤇𐤌𐤃	𐤀𐤋
ba-'a-pa-'a-pa-yha	tha-qa-chaka	wa-aa-l	ba-la-ba-ba-ka	ya-pa-ya-ha	tha-cha-ma-d	aa-l
be'ape'apeyha	tiqahaka	we'al	bilebabeka	yapeyah	tahemod	'al
with her eyes.	or let her captivate you		in your heart	for her beauty	lust	Do not

6-25. Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

תִשָּׂרַֽפְנָה	לֹ֣א	וּ֝בְגָדָ֗יו	בְּחֵיקֹ֑ו	אֵ֬שׁ	אִ֓ישׁ	יַחְתֶּ֤ה	הֲ

תִכָּוֶֽינָה	לֹ֣א	וְ֝רַגְלָ֗יו	הַגֶּחָלִ֑ים	עַל	אִ֭ישׁ	אִםיְהַלֵּ֣ךְ

tikaweynah	lo'	weragelayw	hagehaliym	'al	'iys	'imyehaleke

6-28. Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?

הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ	כָּֽל	יִ֝נָּקֶ֗ה	לֹ֥א	רֵעֵ֑הוּ	אֶלאֵ֣שֶׁת	הַ֭בָּא	כֵּ֗ן

ya'asenah	hw'	napesow	masehiyt	leb	hasar	'isah	no'ep
does so	whoever	himself.	destroys	judgment;	lacks		[But] he who commits adultery

6-32. But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

תִמָּחֶֽה	לֹ֣א	וְ֝חֶרְפָּתֹ֗ו	יִמְצָ֑א	וְקָלֹ֥ון	נֶֽגַע
𐤕𐤌𐤇𐤄	𐤋𐤀	𐤅𐤇𐤓𐤐𐤕𐤅	𐤉𐤌𐤑𐤀	𐤅𐤒𐤋𐤅𐤍	𐤍𐤂𐤏

6-33. A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.

נָקָֽם	בְּיֹ֣ום	יַ֝חְמֹ֗ול	וְלֹֽא	גָּ֑בֶר	חֲמַת	כִּֽיקִנְאָ֥ה

na-qa-m	ba-ya-wm	ya-cha-ma-wl	wa-la-a	ga-ba-r	chama-tha	ka-yqa-na-aa-ha
